Why Venomade?

"Venomade" comes from a song I quite like.
I picked it because it rolls off the tongue easily enough, it's not entirely unique but it's still memorable, and most importantly it's .com domain was available.

Which programming languages do you use?

I started programming in Javascript and Python at school. I then discovered Go in 2018 and it quickly became my favourite programming language. Learning Go inspired me to work with C. In order to program more efficiently in C, I studied Haskell, which flowed nicely into programming Rust.

Nowadays however, I prefer to program mostly with Lua because it's where I feel most comfortable expressing what I want, especially when working with AI.

What Music do you listen to?

I listen to quite a wide range of genres so instead, here are some artists I particularly like:

What setup do you use?

I used to use a T440P but the battery life and power consumption along with the lackluster performance unfortunately became too much of a burden to bare over time so I finally upgraded and picked up a Macbook. I still maintain the T440P was however, the last truly great laptop. No matter how amazing Apple Silicon is, it'll always hurt seeing everything made with glue and solder. I am looking for a new x86 laptop in the near future with the new Intel Panther Lake CPUs so maybe I'll finally get to use Linux with good battery life.

Why does your website look so old/ugly?

It's based on the OpenBSD website which I find particularly nice, relative to the modern web. It doesn't run any JavaScript, respects your default font choices, loads superfast (even on dial-up) and can display correctly in almost any browser!
